The awkward question
I have been the person buying technology, the person delivering it, and the person asked afterwards: did we get the value we expected? That question has shaped how I work more than anything else.
Before Luminum I spent eight years at ServiceNow, working with organisations across Asia Pacific and Japan on technology strategy, customer success and value management. My job was to help customers connect technology investments to business outcomes, and then to find out whether those outcomes were being achieved.
Before that I led program and project management at Downer, worked in consulting at KPMG and Deloitte, and held technology and delivery roles in financial services in Australia and the UK.
Why Luminum
AI has changed the pace of technology adoption. An idea that once needed months of planning and a sizeable budget can now become something people can use in weeks. That also makes it easier than ever to build something impressive that does not solve an important problem. Luminum exists for that gap.
I start with the business problem, work out where AI or automation can make a real difference, then find the simplest way to prove it. Sometimes that is consulting, sometimes training, sometimes a prototype built quickly so real users can try it before more money is spent, and sometimes turning that prototype into something reliable enough to depend on.
How I work
01Start with the problem.
Start with something worth fixing, then decide whether AI belongs in the answer.
02Put a number on it early.
If an idea should save time, improve productivity or reduce risk, work out what that means in real terms before building.
03Measure what happened.
The work is not finished when something goes live. That is when you find out whether it worked.
A small business with a lot of experience behind it
Luminum is deliberately small. When you work with Luminum you work directly with me, from the first conversation to the quarterly review. I bring experience from technology, consulting, program delivery, strategy and value management, and I spend a lot of my time on what AI can do right now.
If you have a problem you are trying to solve, an idea you have been wondering whether to build, or want to understand where AI could help your business, let's have a conversation.
